Update 5/28/21: Thanks for tuning in to another Bike Bash WV update, sorry for the lack of communication over the last few weeks. We were busy hosting a race. The Big Bear XC Classic, it’s part of the #WVMBAWORLDCUP, you’ve probably heard of it because it’s kind of a big deal. Check out the race recap.

We’re happy to announce that we have released the schedule of events for Bike Bash WV, click HERE to view the schedule. You’ll see that the schedule includes details on expo hours, skills clinics, live music, group rides, and fun. The schedule covers everything that we have planned starting on Friday, July 16 through Sunday, July 18. Early Bird campers can show up as early as Thursday, July 15 at 1:00 pm without making any special arrangements with us. If you have some extra time, come on out! With that said and if you haven’t already, you’re probably going to want to get registered HERE.

We’re still working on adding more vendors and organizations to our expo area. In two of our earlier updates we mentioned that Industry Nine, Highland Outdoors, Pathfinder of WV, and the Morgantown Area Mountain Bike Alliance (MAMBA would be in attendance.

In this update we want to let you know that Pocahontas Trails, the Ohiopyle Biking Club, the Brad and Alys Smith Outdoor Economic Development Collaborative (WVU), the Youth Cycling Coalition, and the West Virginia Interscholastic Cycling League have all agreed to join us at Bike Bash WV. We are still planning to add more to this list so stay tuned to future updates. If you are a vendor or organization that is interested in joining us at our Bike Bash WV event July 16-18, 2021, then shoot us an email at or check out our Vendor Page.

Update 5/10/21: We hope everyone enjoyed their weekend, especially all of the Moms out there! We have a few updates this Monday morning focused on entertainment and fun.

We’re happy to announce that we have booked our Friday evening live music for Bike Bash WV. Trevor Thomas’s Border Radio will be playing a solo set to get things kicked off and then continue on with a full band. Trevor Thomas is an Americana/Country/Bluegrass/early Rock n’ Roll singer, songwriter, and guitarist. His current project, Trevor Thomas’s Border Radio, plays a variety of covers and originals in the vein of Hank Williams, The Stanley Bros, Ernest Tubb, Tyler Childers, and The Flying Burrito Bros. He has played in and around the Pittsburgh area for over two decades (Local Honey, Six Demon Bag, Blasting Caps, solo artist, etc.), has toured nationally, and has had music featured on radio and in films.

We’re also happy to announce that we’re bringing in a Yoga instructor for the weekend. Tara Morris, a Big Bear Lake Trail Center local, will offer four one-hour Yoga sessions throughout the weekend. Tara has 11 years and over 500 hours of teaching yoga – ranging from power yoga to meditation, in studios, community centers, and outside – in groups large and small. As a Respiratory Therapist, she teaches chair yoga to patients with moderate to severe lung disease in a pulmonary rehabilitation program. As an outdoor adventurer, she uses yoga to cross-train and recover from biking, paddling, hiking and running. We’ll offer at least one session on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Please bring your own mat.

Update 5/3/21: Here we are again with another Monday update. It’s now May and we hope those April showers will bring us the lush green ferns and that jungle like forest canopy that we all crave.

We’ve been hard at work getting the schedule for Bike Bash WV all sorted out. We’re making a lot of progress in that area and should be able to publish it in a few weeks. The schedule will provide details on all of the planned activities that will take place from Friday through Sunday so that you can plan your weekend – skills clinics, group rides, music, yoga, and other activities will be included on the schedule of events. We’ll provide an update on this page when it is available for your viewing pleasure.

We are happy to announce that we have commitments from our food vendors. Doan’s Bones will be joining us with their BBQ goodness, wood fired pizza, and possibly some options from south of the border. Orange County Roasters has also indicated that they will join us for the event. They will provide coffee, other beverages, and some assorted treats for attendees to enjoy. You’ll find both of these food and beverage options under the pavilion.

Update 4/19/21: We hope you had a great weekend. It’s Monday, time for another Bike Bash WV update. We’re excited to announce the entertainment that we have booked for Saturday evening – that’s right LIVE MUSIC is back! To start off the evening we’ll have Rodney Rice playing a solo acoustic set. Rodney, coming in from CO, was born and raised in Morgantown, WV, where the Appalachian experience helped provide inspiration for his original music. We’re happy to have Rodney coming in to play for us. He also likes to ride bikes so this is a match made in ‘Almost Heaven’.

Our headlining act for Saturday evening will be The Legendary Hucklebucks – Pittsburgh’s own Hillbilly Wrockers. We’re super stoked to be able to experience live music again after a long hiatus due to music venues being shut down. Come check out this high energy rock n’ roll band. You’ll be dancing in your 6 foot square like nobody is watching. Plus you might see Uncle Piddles out there shredding the trails!

We’re also building out the Bike Bash WV group ride schedule and we’re happy to announce that John Herod, President of the Morgantown Area Mountain Bike Alliance, has agreed to lead the All Mountain Enduro Ride that will take place on Saturday at 10:00am. John knows the trail system well and will show advanced riders some of the fun local lines within the trail network. Plan on a 3-4 hour ride with some sessioning in spots.

Update 4/12/21: Thanks for tuning in for another Bike Bash WV Monday update. We’ve been working hard getting all of the elements in place to have another great bike fest event at the Big Bear Lake Trail Center this July. We’re excited to announce that Industry Nine will be joining us again this year. Have you ever wondered how a high engagement wheel set could change the enjoyment of your ride, especially in rocky tech sections of trail? You can find out by attending Bike Bash WV where you can demo a set of Industry Nine wheels on Big Bear’s technical terrain!

We would also like to announce that our friends from Pathfinder of WV will be in attendance. Since 1973, Pathfinder of WV has been the go to outfitter in Morgantown, WV, the home of West Virginia University. They continue to be the largest independent outdoor retailer in the state. Pathfinder of WV will be set up in the expo area and they have again agreed to offer FREE basic mechanic service over the weekend to keep you out on the trail. This doesn’t mean you should wait to have your suspension rebuilt or bottom bracket replaced, you should do that before you come to Bike Bash WV. Yet, if you snap a shifter cable or slash your tire they’ll be there to help with their expertise and labor (you’ll be responsible for the cost of the parts).

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be filling in slots on the schedule with activities and themed rides. We’ve always done an endurance ride at this bike fest for those who like to cover a lot of distance and ride for most of the day. Pathfinder of WV has agreed to lead this ride that will treat you to most of the trails at Big Bear. This ride will take place on Saturday – check the schedule, once released, for the exact time.

Update 4/5/21: Happy Monday! We hope everybody enjoyed their holiday weekend. We are happy to announce that we have 2 incredible instructors committed to provide skills instruction during Bike Bash WV. These will be one-hour skills sessions offered throughout the weekend with instruction provided by Harry Geyer (Owner of The Wheel Mill) and Shanna Powell (Skills Coach, Owner, and Industry Veteran at Endless Bike Girl MTB Skills Instruction and Endless Bike Co.). There will be no addition charge to attend these mini skills building sessions. We’ll add info about specific focus areas and how to get enrolled at a later date.

We would also like to announce that Highland Outdoors will be joining us for the weekend with a booth. As West Virginia’s only independent outdoor magazine, they know when a good time is to be had in the Mountain State and we’re happy to have them in attendance. The magazine is filled with thoughtful stories and beautiful images. Visit their website to purchase a subscription or visit one of their many distribution partners throughout the state to get one for FREE!

Endless Bike Girl – Shanna Powell is always stoked!

Update 3/31/21: Spring has arrived and we’re out working on trails getting them ready for YOU! We’re also busy planning Bike Bash WV 2021. We’re encouraged by the COVID19 guidance offered through the Governor of WV focused on camping, live music, and festivals. Please attend this event knowing that masks, hygiene, and social distancing will be required depending on what you are doing at any given time. We’re working on building our schedule of events and will make announcements as we get confirmations from our event partners. As of the time of this update we do have a band booked and an awesome skills instructor confirmed! We’ll be adding more so stay tuned. Until then, get out and ride.
